WELLfed
WELLfed is an established, multi-award-winning adult and youth education programme that has been teaching families how to make healthy, affordable meals and baking since 2016.
At our base in Porirua East, Learners attend hands-on cooking classes for two terms to embed transferable life skills, transforming lives and communities beyond the kitchen.
Our mission is to nourish communities through food and connections. These classes are just part of the ripple of impact that is created when people have the choices, resources and skills to live well.
“Through our programmes, people are eating more healthily, feeling a greater sense of community connection, spending less money on food and having the confidence to learn new things.”
The support received from Trust House is helping cover key people in WELLfed’s operational team to ensure the continuity of our mahi in these challenging times. This directly benefits the 150+ Learners who participate in the WELLfed programmes each year, with over 400 people per week fed by delicious kai made by Learners at WELLfed.
Massive thanks to Trust House for this funding that ensures the impacts of the WELLfed programme are maximised in 2023.
