Eventing Wairarapa
Eventing Wairarapa were once again lucky to have the support of many local organisations via sponsorship and grants to enable their annual spring horse trials to occur. This year, hosting the North Island Championships, the event saw 7 levels of competition from a grass-roots levels (65cm) right up to a pre-elite level (3*) with 114 combinations battling it out for titles. In a sporting context where eventing facilities and competitions are becoming increasingly challenging to run due to high costs and a reducing volunteer pool, Eventing Wairarapa’s committee is proud to continue to offer a high-quality, novel and beautifully presented event which always receives high praise from those who compete and spectate. It does not go without significant effort from many officials and volunteers – Eventing Wairarapa has calculated it takes around 100 people to make the competition run over weekend! However, it also wouldn’t be possible without the support of valuable organisations such as Trust House Foundation who support and enable such events in the area through the provision of grants to assist with critical elements such as medical cover and sound. Eventing Wairarapa thanks its partners, sponsor and grantors, like Trust House Foundation.
